Train derailment in Western Australia

Released 9/12/2015

We are advising all of our customers that there was a train derailment carrying freight in the West Australian desert.  All lines have been suspended between Perth and Adelaide or Melbourne and Melbourne to Perth.  Click here for more information.

Australia is a huge country, and one of the key ways we get cargo whether it be cars, letters, boxes, fridges across from West to East or East to West is via rail.  Unfortunately, derailments happen a handful of times per year and this has just occurred.

Auto Logistics is happy to report that we had no vehicles on any of the affected trains, but what it does mean is that nothing is travelling across the country. We advise our customers who are expecting vehicles that there will now be delays. Unfortunately, these are unforseen circumstances and it cannot be helped.  Luckily there have been no injuries reported.

If you have any question about your transport or proposed future transit times, please contact our office.

The lines are expected to be up and running again within the coming week.

We apologise for any inconvenience.
